The cost of the trip is £305 per person for a double/twin room, based on 31 people, if 41 travel this will be reduced to £275 And If 51 travel £260. There are 5 single rooms available which have NO supplement.

Deposit on booking of £50 per person (non-refundable)

Torquay Steam and Sail,

This is a 5 day / 4-night trip visiting Torquay and surrounding areas, including Buckfastleigh and the famous abbey, a steam train journey to Totnes, cruise along the River Dart to Dartmouth. We also visit Plymouth, Dawlish, Teignmouth and Exeter.

The trip leaves on Monday 13 th September 2021. The price for this trip includes bed, breakfast, evening meal and entry fees. As hotel rooms need to be booked well in advance, we have decided that to secure this booking a deposit of £50 per person will be required. This deposit is NON- REFUNDABLE (*see below). It is currently planned we leave IBM North Harbour, Cosham at 10.00am on Monday 13th September, if this is changed you will be notified by the organiser. It is envisaged the coach will arrive back at North Harbour at approximately 4.00pm on Friday the 17 th September.
There will be a fair bit of walking and therefore it may not be suitable for those with a mobility problem

* Please note we will take a minimum of 31 travellers and a maximum of 52. The cost of the trip is £305 and is based on 31 members and guests travelling. If there are more than 40 travellers then the cost will be reduced as above. If new
Government restrictions are introduced for September and the trip is cancelled then you will receive a FULL refund, if the trip has to run with restricted numbers then members will be given a place in the order their applications were received.

We are currently asking that all members on this trip are fully vaccinated against Covid-19, however we will follow Government guidelines in force at the time of the trip.

The final payment will be due on or before 1st July 2021.

Included in the cost

Coach travel & porterage, 4-night’s dinner, bed & breakfast, entrance to River Dart cruise and Steam Train.

The itinerary:

Day 1(Monday 13th September)
We leave North Harbour at 10.00am to travel to Torquay for a four- night stay. We are staying at TLH Toorak Hotel Torquay for 4 nights and should arrive mid- afternoon. Our coach will have a toilet, and we will stop for a comfort/lunch break, probably at Dorchester.

Day 2 (Tuesday 14th September) Today we travel to Buckfastleigh and the famous abbey. The coach then takes us to the station, where we take the 30 minute steam train journey to Totnes. Here we join a boat that will cruise along the River Dart to Dartmouth, where we have free time before re- joining the coach to travel back to the hotel

Day 3 (Wednesday 15th September) Plymouth and Dartmoor – the route takes in the splendid scenery as we travel to Moretonhampstead, with its distinctive Alms- houses dating from 1637, and Princetown the home of the infamous Dartmoor Prison and on to Plymouth.

Day 4 (Thursday 16 th September)
A day tour to the pretty seaside resort of Dawlish, a favourite of Jane Austen and Charles Dickens, with its red shingle beach and craggy cliffs. Then to Teignmouth with its two- mile long esplanade.

Day 5 (
Friday 17th September) After breakfast, we depart for the city of Exeter for some free time before commencing our homeward journey.
It is hoped we will arrive back at IBM North Harbour, Cosham around 4.00pm (depending on traffic)

This trip is organised on a first come first served basis, there is a limited number of single, double and twin rooms. The rooms will be allocated in the order they are received by the organiser. The TLH Toorak Hotel is located in the centre of Torquay it has 92 bedrooms on 3 floors, most of which have both lift and stairs access. They are traditionally designed with comfort in mind. There is free wifi in all bedrooms, en- suite, TV, hairdryer, and tea/coffee making facilities. Use of the indoor and outdoor swimming pools and poolside facilities is free to hotel residents. Pool towels are available to hire. There is also a Gym and SPA, which incur a charge.
